Professor Shi Xuemin was born in Tianjin in June 1938.

Experience:

In 1970s, he began to research the punctuation treatment for apoplexy and invent the "brain-awaken”Acupuncture Crafts to explore new area in this field.

At the beginning of 1980s, his method of “Quantification of Acupuncture Crafts”input the blank of China Acupuncture.

In 1995, his “The research in apoplexy clinic and experimental treatment of 'brain-awaken' Acupuncture Crafts”was awarded as the third-level National Science and Technology Progress Prize.

In 1999, his research result mentioned above was awarded as Tianjin Great Science-Technology contribution for promoting market.

Academician Shi Xuemin is Tianjin's first director of traditional medical doctor. He has taught and trained 20 doctor graduates. He visited 30 countries and areas for speech and treatment and devoted himself in the Chinese Acupuncture's openning to the world. In many countries, he is respected as "a diplomat of Acupuncture". He also writes 10 books, such as "Outline of Traditional Medicine", "Shi Xuemin Acupuncture Theory", "Practical Acupuncture", which has been published around the world. Professor Shi Xuemin's contribution is to combine the acupuncture clinic theory and modern high technology. For his new theoretical system, Professor Shi Xuemin has become the founder of modern acupuncture.
