eNorth.com(the dawn of 29 March from Hong Kong): 29 March PM: 3:00, the "New Century Chinese Medicine Academic Conference" was held in Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Vice-mayor and Vice-president of Tianjin delegation Wang Shuzu attended the conference and gave a short speech. Over 100 Chinese medicine-medical specialists from Hong Kong and Tianjin were all present in the conference.

Professor Shi Xuemin, who is the member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice-president of China Association of Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Vice-president of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, firstly made a speech in the conference. He stated that Chinese medicine, which has been after thousands years' conclusion and research, has grown into a special medical science with its own theoretical system and excellent treatment result. 21st century will be a time for Chinese medicine development. Chinese medicine is an excellent Chinese traditional heritage and will integrate with modern high technology to bring greater affection for human health.

After his speech, specialists from Hong Kong and Tianjin carried other speeches and exchanged some ideas, like the development direction of Chinese medicine.

Native medical specialists all believed that this academic conference must be able to accelerate the development of Hong Kong Chinese medicine, especially the improvement of Chinese pharmacology in Hong Kong. (Zhang Huijun and Wang Wei)
