March 31, eNorth from Hong Kong: On the 4th day of "2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong", hundreds of the people of finance and securities circles from Tianjin and Hong Kong attend the "Tianjin-Hong Kong Finance & Securities Forum" and exchange their opinions on the development of Tianjin and Hong Kong's finance and securities, in order to seek larger cooperation range for both sides.

Vice Mayor of Tianjin Wang Shuzu participates the forum and makes a speech. In his speech, he says Tianjin and Hong Kong stay a good cooperating relationship in finance and security. Hong Kong is both the main trade partener of Tianjin and the important channel to import overseas investment. At present, some of Tianjin's enterprises such as Tianjin Development Co., Chuangye Environmental Protection Co. and China Data Co., etc. have already been listed in the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market, which plays a certain role in promoting the development of Tianjin's finance. At the same time, some Hong Kong invested banks such as the Bank of East Asia and Daoheng Bank, etc. and some Britain invested banks such as HSBC Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, etc. established offices in Tianjin, which plays an active role in promoting their cooperation in finance with Tianjin. Mr. Wang hopes Tianjin and Hong Kong's finance and securities can futherly widen the cooperation range in market-running, experience-exchanging, talent-training and business-communication, etc.

After the forum, a brief signing ceremony of cooperation contracts is held.
