eNorth(dawn of 31 March from Hong Kong): Professor Wang Derong, who is the standing Vice-director of Chinese Communication & Transportation Society, gave a speech to foresee Tianjin as having potentiality in logistics in the "2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong--Modern Logistic conference" on 30 March.

He introduced that Tianjin was the birthplace of Chinese modern logistics and is one of the cities with the most advanced logistics.

As referring why Tianjin has potentiality in developing logistics, he said that Tianjin has superior advantage of geographic location, which is the economic center of the North of China and ring area of Bohai Sea. Tianjin is also an important transportation hub and the gateway of Beijing. Every year, large amounts of materials are transmitted by ships, airplanes and trains to pass Tianjin. After China entering WTO, there will be more enterprises appearing in Tianjin. Tianjin will be sure to have a great demand of international logistics market. Meanwhile, Tianjin has determined the modern logistics as one of municipal economic increasing point and pillar industry; Tianjin has also formulated the development strategy of Tianjin Modern logistics. Tianjin excellent investment environment and solid-efficient preparation make people see the hope and future of Tianjin modern logistics development.
