March 29, eNorth from Hong Kong：In order to congratulate on the opening of "Tianjin Week in Hong Kong" and extend thanks to personalities of various circles for their supports, Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe performed Peking Opera at Hong Kong Hsin Kuang Theatre yesterday evening, contributing exciting programmes for theatre fans. Mayor Li Shenglin, Commissioner of Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the HKSAR Ma Yuzhen, Vice-Commissioner Cui Zhanqiao, Tang Guoqiang, Vice-Mayor Wang Shuzu, the president of Federation of Tianjin Chambers of Commerce & Industry Zhu Wenju, celebrities of various circles of Hong Kong Chen Tinghua, Chen Youqing, Xu Guojiong, Li Hesheng, Zhang Yongzhen, Jin Ruxin, Zhang Yuwen, Qian Jiang and Wei Jianhua etc watched the performance. Before the performance's beginning, Li Shenglin conveyed greetings to performers.

Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe has visited Hong Kong three times respectively in 1987, 1990, 1995, being warmly received by the audiences and enjoying good comments. During "2001 Tianjin Week In Hong Kong", Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe came here again. In order to guarantee the success of the performance, they had rehearsed carefully and previewed several times. Yesterday, there is no spare seat in Hsin Kuang Theatre. Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe performed four highlights from operas including "Sizhou City", "Chun Qiu Ting", "San Cha Kou" and "Da Bao Guo". Their excellent performance won warm applause of fans.

It is reported that Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe will perform for 5 days, from 29th, 3 to 2nd, 4, totally 6 shows, 13 traditional repertoires. Those repertoires show characteristic performing art of many artists in "Sheng, Dan, Jing, Mou, Chou".
