March 28, eNorth from Hong Kong: On March 27, Mayor of Tianjin Li Shenglin, accompanied by the vice mayor and vice director of Tianjin Government Delegation Wang Shuzu, arrived at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center in the evening. There they inspected the arrangement of the main exhibition site where the opening ceremony and the Econmy and Trade Exhibition of "2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong" is to be held.

Mayor Li carefully inquired the situations of the decoration and preparation work of the exhibition of "2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong" and made some suggestions. He said one of the major aims of holding "2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong" was to enable the world to know Tianjin and let Tianjin steps toward the world. In order to reach this aim, the first step is to let our idea open to the world; then is to make Tianjin's products well-known in the world. Our Economy and Trade Exhibition is an important form to try to reach this goal. Therefore, we must try our best to make the style of the decoration be in outstanding features, fresh and spright. "I am satisfied with the arrangement of the exhibition. I thank China Radio & TV Cooperation and all our departments, districts and counties for their efforts for the preparation work. I give my warm greetings to you." Mr. Li said.

Li Shenglin said Tianjin delegation was as the representative of Tianjin Committee of CPC and Tianjin Municipal Government to come to Hong Kong. "Just before we left Tianjin for Hong Kong, Mr. Zhang Lichang saw us off and also raised some requirements to us. '2001 Tianjin Week in Hong Kong' is an important event to implement the spirit of the 7th Session of 7th CPC Conference. We should pay great attention to this point to make this exhibition well." Mr. Li said.
