Kong", the journalists get to know that three transportation departments--railway,
harbor and airport--all will extend their infrastructure to prepare
for the future prosperity of Tianjin modern logistics
From this year, Tianjin Railway Council will build the Fourth railway
line between Beijin and Tianjin to improve the transportation capacity
in these two cities. After the finish of this line, the present
situation of passenger trains and cargo trains running in one line
will be completely changed. The designed handling capacity in 2005
is 64 pairs passenger trains and 88 pairs cargo trains; 100 pairs
passenger trains and 73 pairs cargo trains in 2010; 128 pairs passenger
trains and 66 pairs cargo trains in 2015. In 2015, the handling
capacity of Tianjin railway station will raise from present 59 million
tons to 120 million tons. The complement of the Fourth line will
further raise the speed of passenger train up to 210 Km/h. People
at that time can enjoy the high-frequent, high-speed and short-time
city-transportation network. The fourth line will also increase
the passing ability of Tianjin harbor's land entry so as to satisfy
100-million-ton-level big harbor's demand on railway transportation.
Being the first All-container dock, Tianjin Harbor has been improving
the application of network technology and EDI Electronic Data Transferring
System. With the helps of Tianjin customhouse, Tianjin Harbor has
realized the information-sharing with the shipping company, cargo
transportation company, dock stevedoring company and rear stack
storage. At present, the administrative office of the harbor is
constructing the deep water channel, lots of deep water berths,
storage facilities and processing equipment; building up bulk cargo
logistics center in South Xinjiang and container logistics center
in North Xinjiang; cooperating with customhouse to set up "Tianjin
Harbor Container Checking Center"; setting up agencies in western
provinces like Xinjiang, Sichuan, Shanxi and Shanxi. Two large projections:
one is to establish and reform 5 deep-water bulk berths and 11 deep-water
container berths from the extending 150,000-ton deep-water channel,
south harbor district bulk berth and north harbor district container
berth; two is to enlarge the navigation condition of Haihe river
lower reach from the foundation of Haihe river 10,000-ton shipping
sluice.
To the airport, Tianjin government has decided to improve the street
infrastructure. The plan is to optimize and connect the express
ways and railways around the airport, harbor and urban area. This
implementation will play a key role in the turning from Tianjin
International Airport into the Air Cargo-Transportation Hub in North
China. To accomplish the integration of Beijing Airport and Tianjin
Airport, a former railway line between these two airports will be
repaired to open a new passage. Besides these, the Airport present
runway and low-speed runway will be extended and recovered. The
runway will be extended to be 3,600; another runway will be built
in a proper time. The level will be raised to be 4E. Meanwhile,
the construction of communication equipment and information network
will realize the modernization of Tianjin Airport logistics.
